In May 2022, I posted weekly stories on my art-centred Instagram account in a series I lovingly referred to as The Style Diaries. The content included my research on various style categories, Kibbe body typing, colour theory, and capsule wardrobes—as well as my own fashion illustrations.
My goal with the series was to share my love of personal style as well as encourage the viewer to explore their own creativity with clothing.
The feedback I received each week (as well as at the end) was excellent. It was clear that the content resonated and that there was an appetite for more! To carry the series further, I released eight digital wallpapers and announced their launch in a final Instagram story.
While my initial goal had been to encourage others in their creativity, the mini-series actually reignited my own! I truly enjoyed the process of storytelling and educating through this medium—and it even opened the door to later pitch (and implement) a similar content strategy with a branding client.
